Experience the First Bible VR APP with the Ark of Noah filmed with Cutting Edge Nokia OZO VR Technology Camera
Using the OZO VR camera from Nokia, a new app, the Bible VR app was created by film director Pearry Teo and Seven Interactive offers a 360-degree view of the Netherlands full-size replica of the Ark of Noah.
The Ark of Noah, built by carpenter Johan Huibers, is a full-size replica of the biblical Ark. Currently docked in the Netherlands, the Ark has served as a destination for hundreds of thousands of visitors since its completion in 2013.
The Ark of Noah VR project, made possible by a partnership with Nokia, boosts VR adoption in the faith-based industry. The Ark of Noah VR app is part of the Bible VR app collection that allows users to directly experience the Gospels through rich virtual reality.
With five decks, the Ark of Noah is constructed of Swedish pine wood. At 95 feet wide and 75 feet tall, the Ark is longer than a football field and can hold more than 5,000 people at one time. As a director experienced with traditional and VR video technology, Mr. Teo used the Nokia OZO camera to explore the inner decks, sights, and stalls of the Ark of Noah.
The Nokia OZO is a state-of-the-art virtual reality camera designed to capture 360 degree spherical video and surround-sound. Using the world’s first all-in-one professional VR camera, the Bible VR team shot footage on location in the Netherlands and processed the output in their Los Angeles studios.
In addition to giving viewers an opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the Ark of Noah through the VR app, the project hopes to raise funds for the non–profit Ark of Noah Foundation. Future plans of the Foundation include supporting transportation of the Ark to world ports of call to serve as an interactive, informative, cultural museum and event center. Discussing expansion of the fundraising project, Mr. Teo notes, “VR brings so much to the Ark experience. Our next steps are to create VR simulations of what it is like inside the Ark of Noah when it is populated with animals and sailing in a storm. We are already designing interactive games and integrating live streaming to allow viewers to experience when the Ark sets sail.”
Considered the first Singaporean movie director to become established in Hollywood, Mr. Teo is a screenwriter, director, and co-founder of FigTree VR, a principal player in the Bible VR enterprise. Seven Interactive, developer of the Ark of Noah app delivery platform, is a Los Angeles based mobile, web, and print design firm, visit riskfreeserv.com site.
Mr. Teo states “This is a special event for everybody. The technology that we hold in our hands preserves the tradition of billions of people in the world. It is something special to those who want to keep it close to them. With VR and mobile technology, this is possible today.”
The Bible VR app is free on the Google Play store and coming soon to iOS.

Founder, Ark of Noah Foundation in the Netherlands
Born in 1958, Johan Huibers grew up in the Dutch province of Noord-Holland, in the ‘Realm of a thousand Islands’. His fascination with water in all its facets dates back to his childhood. When he was 24, he encountered God, who planted a desire in his heart to help others. Having been involved in adventure filled aid projects in Ethiopia, Albania and Bosnia, he set about realizing his big dream: to reconstruct Noah’s Ark.
At 33 years old, building constructor and carpenter, Johan Huibers dreamt that a fierce storm-tide flooded the entire province of Nood-Holland in the Netherlands. That dream marks the start of an exciting adventure in which Johan overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles to achieve his ultimate goal; the building of a replica of Noah’s Ark!
